You Gotta Move

"You Gotta Move" is a song written by Fred McDowell and Rev. Gary Davis. Being a well-known song of McDowell's, is was covered by many groups including The Rolling Stones in their 1971 album Sticky Fingers.

My version is faster and I wrote some new verses for this song.  My favorite version of this song is done by Cassandra Wilson.

My God is Great

William Mitchell

This song was inspired by a piano loops that I found one night on looperman.com (See Credits).  I had been reading the 70th Psalm that morning.  I started repeating the psalm as the loop played.

The finished song follows pretty close to the original text from the psalm, except for the chorus which I added.  The guitar was played by Mike Kelly of Second Chance Soldier. The piano was played by Andy Valdini .

Restore My Soul

This song is based on the Psalm 6.  The song speaks of the problems we face each day and how our hope lives in God

Chasing After the Wind
William Mitchell

The inspiration for this song came from Cassandra Wilson's version of "Death Letter".  I always loved the slow but driving beat to her version.  The original song written and sung by Son House.

My song came mostly from the Book of Ecclesiastes, where Solomon repeatly talks about the things we do are little more than Chasing After the Wind.
